Autumn Dreamin'

I don't know if it's the weather or what, but I've been wishing for some Fall around here lately, perhaps brought on by the cooler weather a couple of nights this week? I guess around these parts it's still a far way off, but I'm ready! Fall always makes me feel more energized and productive, especially after our long hot summers. I'm so ready for cooler weather, crunchy leaves, bright blue skies with colorful leaves, and Tennessee Football!

Also this Fall, we'll have something else to think about...nursery colors and baby names. How fun! Of course I have been scouring Pinterest for some awesome nursery ideas. These are my favorites so far...

Those paper dolls are adorable!
Today way a good day. I am 17 weeks today. I had a doctor's appointment and was able to hear the heartbeat today. I love being reminded that there is someone still in there!:) Everything is going well, praise God, and we will find out boy/girl Sept. 8!

I haven't forgotten or given up on my gallery wall project, it's just taking longer than expected. I have all my frames matted and painted and I love them, though! What I'm working on now is finding the perfect photos/getting them enlarged/re-sized, and well, getting those frames hung. I think it will be great, though, and I can't wait to show you!

Hope your week has been good and that you have great plans for the weekend. If you can, please take the time to check out the blog for the 3-year-old little girl of two college friends. She was hit by a car last weekend and has shown, only by the grace of God, wonderful progress and improvement this week. Please join the thousands praying for her continued healing: www.prayingforabygail.wordpress.com

My Current Project

I have to be honest. We (I) haven't gotten a lot done since we moved into our house. I have gotten two rooms painted and that's about it. Busy-ness and tired-ness have been my downfall so far. However, I have three days off and I am on a mission to get something done. I'm not really feeling the painting right now so I have decided to pick a fun project that I can handle, that will make a big impact on our house.

This is the room I would love to be working on:

This is going to be Baby Hughes' room! However, since we don't know if Baby H is a boy or girl yet, I'm not ready to do anything with it (yet). Currently it is the catch-all room.

My project this week is this wall:

This is a nice big blank wall behind our couch. The walkway is right behind the couch. I'm thinking gallery wall!

I've been laying out what we already have in the way of frames to try to get an idea and this is what I've got so far. I'm thinking about painting the matting on the red ones, painting the cheap wooden ones, and finding some great photos to go in them, possibly with some pretty scrapbook paper. I'm wanting this to be something really meaningful and special with lots of pictures of family. My color scheme is going to include blue/yellow/green which is a departure from my normal go-to color-RED.

Has anyone else done a gallery wall? Any suggestions/ideas? I'll post pictures of the finished project, of course. I can't wait to see this when it's done!

My News Lately

I think busy-ness must be a drag on my inspiration. I'm trying to get accustomed to these 12 hour work days and the other days of the week trying to recover from those 12 hour days. Anyway, there are so many great things happening this week that I couldn't help but share. First of all, my brother starts work today as a real live teacher. My baby brother! I'm so proud of him although he moved to Arkansas and I miss him like crazy. Oh yeah, did I mention he gets married in a month? Secondly, my little sister graduates physician assistant school tonight! So proud of her making it through these last couple of really tough years.
Chris and I will be there tonight to watch her finish it off. We're going to Nashville and I am so excited to see my family and finally have a whole weekend off. I feel like I worked every weekend in July!
I'm feeling pretty good. Having a little more second-trimester sickness than I did in the first. We find out the gender September 8th and it seems forever away! The chinese gender-predictor test says it's a girl, just sayin. ;) Take that for what it's worth!
