Happy Happy Friday to You!

Happy Friday Friends!!  I am so glad that the weekend is here!  This brings me that much closer to the end of the semester which brings me that much closer to my last semester of Nursing school!!  Can we say Hallelujah?  I'm feeling very good about the weekend even though I've already had a couple of (minor) setbacks.  For one, my car slowly died on the way home from school today.  First the radio and air, then the odometer/thermometer/windows/blinkers/headlights...I could go on.  I was talking to Chris on the phone and we were laughing because I would give him a report of the next thing to die.  You have to laugh rather than cry sometimes, right?!?   Anyway, when I got home I tried to start it again and it wouldn't even start.  Chris is hoping it's just the alternator which is a relatively mild issue in the scheme of things I guess.  Definitely cheaper than a new car.

Anyway...the second thing is that I have to work tomorrow.  Now, I don't know about you, but I think that working on Saturday is for the birds.  I kind of feel like everyone is having a party except for me.  However, I do want to help out while I'm in school so this is a great opportunity for me to do that.  It also will help with Christmas coming up!  (More likely, this paycheck will go for more practical things like alternators.)

Despite these "setbacks", I'm pretty excited about the weekend.  Chris' cousin Callie and her little girl Sophi are coming to visit and the VOLS play tomorrow night!  Worship with our wonderful church family is Sunday and Thanksgiving and Christmas are on their merry way!  (There might be a couple of birthdays thrown in there as well.)  I know that I've rambled on here today, but I'm feeling a little joyful about life right now.  Nope, we don't really have the money for car parts right now, but we'll manage.  God has proven to us that he always provides.

"O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below--you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way."

Happiness

I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be relaxing, reading, cleaning only if I feel like it, and hanging out with my husband on a beautiful Fall day!  Her Daughter's Dream is halfway read, the house is halfway clean, and chili ingredients are on the counter for tonight.  The Vols play football today, and, no matter who wins, I am just thankful to have my husband home to watch the game with.  I LOVE that he doesn't have to work on Saturdays anymore!  Nope, it's not all roses...I am pretending at least until tomorrow that I don't have any homework.  On this bright, sunny, October day though, things in my world are pretty good.  Thank you God for lovely weather and husbands at home!!

Dear Weekend,

Dear Weekend,
Did you know that you are my last weekend before school starts?  This means you have a lot to live up to!  Could you bring my husband home from work at a good time today?  Also, I would like some sunny weather, not too hot.  85 degrees would be just about right.  I have some not-so-fun stuff to do such as exercising and cleaning.  Could you maybe add a couple of hours to each day?  There are some things on my baking wish-list that I would like to make so I thought maybe we could work out a deal about the calories.  Yes?  Really, though, if I could get some good rest and lots of quality time with my husband, I would be a happy girl.  Being in school means that, sadly, I will miss out on both of these.  OK Weekend, I'm counting on you!

Sincerely,
Regena

P.S. Do you clean house?

Just a Thursday

Whew, it's been a tiring week and I'm just about delirious tonight thinking about everything coming up in the next few weeks.  Weekends, softball, beach, project, school prep, school.  I'm tired thinking about it!!  However, I feel that I've worked hard this summer and am prepared to face this school year head-on.  So looking forward to the beach with my favorite girls and hope to get some relaxation in.  Hope your weeks have been good and that you have wonderful weekends full of joy and family.  Adios!!

Summer Weekends...

Summer weekends remind me of...

Nutty Buddies,

Jelly Shoes,

Bike-riding until dark,

Grandaddy grilling hamburgers on the back deck,

Days at the lake with family,

and wearing Itsy-Bitsy Polka Dot Bikinis with not a worry in the world.

What are some of YOUR summer weekend memories?
