sunshiney days

Every year I decide that Fall is my favorite season. However, every Spring I decide in its favor. We go in a vicious cycle every year!:) Today was a gorgeous day-one of those days that makes me want to skip through fields and sing. Thank you God for sunshine!

monday

OK, so I guess my Monday really wasn't this bad. It was a return to reality, however. Chris and I were able to spend some time with the youth group at our church during a high school retreat last weekend. We spent the time being reminded about being "Outsiders" and being in this world, not of it. We had a great time worshiping with some awesome kids and friends with just a little sleep deprivation. Anyway, waking up on this Monday morning gave me a little dose of reality-the reality of 5 weeks until graduation from nursing school and about 400 things to turn in/complete/achieve before then. I'm also looking for a job and getting a little anxious about it. Even with all these things, though, I know who holds my future. What a peace and security in that!

Adorable...

Last weekend was a great weekend spent with my family! I came to Nashville to take some engagement photos for my brother, Brian, and his fiance, Emily. They were the cutest couple and Brian was just about the most patient groom-to-be that I have ever seen! Between my sister and I, we took over 240 photos! He must have been raised by some good women.:) I won't spoil their reveal for their photos but I couldn't resist showing this one:

Is there anything cuter than my little brother sittin' in a field full of buttercups??;) I've got to give him some major props-he was the best sport about the whole thing.
Brian and Emily, I am so excited for you guys and pray that your life together is blessed!

Not Too Much Longer!

Well friends, I am currently working on my very last nursing care plan. This is a big deal. After approximately 15 care plans that I have done in the last 2 years which have taken up countless hours of my life, this is the very last one. I cannot even begin to describe to those of you, who have not gone through the loveliness of nursing school, how big a relief it is. I guess you just have to take my word for it. All I can say is this is cause for a celebration!

I don't know so much about the Chinese New Year parade. It could be fun though.;)

For the Weekend...

Do nothing! (It's good for you)
Say Aha! and boost your confidence.
Let poetry into your life.
Eat healthy smackerals (and not get stouter)
Beat the gloom and lighten your load.

I would say that these rules are the perfect ones to live by this weekend. Spring Break is over on Monday and then we are in the home stretch until graduation! My plan is to sleep late and do little. Hope your weekend is great!

Alright Already...

READY for Spring.
I know that rain is necessary for things like dogwoods to grow and bloom. I have to say that I've had quite enough of the wet stuff, though. Come on sunshine and Spring weather!

This weekend my mom, sister, and I undertook the cleaning and sorting of my Grandmother's house. It was a big job and a strange experience to sort through the things that my grandparents collected throughout their lives. Often we would come across items that brought back a flood of warm memories such as this little china lady. The moment I saw her I was reminded of my childhood days spent at their house. She might be a little worse for the wear now. I think that yellow stuff is glue, holding together pieces from a time when she had been broken. I was able to take her home, though, and I consider her a "treasure". I love the memories I have and will treasure those most, however. I am reminded that her life was much more than just the things she left behind and I pray that my life is much more than just "things" as well.

On the Road Again

Chris and I are headed out to Nashville for a family weekend. I hope your weekend is great and that you have lots of fun!

Maybe if we took this car we'd get better gas mileage.:)
Happy Friday!

Buttercup Time

Yeah, I know technically they are daffodils, but we've always called them buttercups in my family so buttercups they are. I love the first sighting of the pretty yellow bunches, signaling that winter is coming to an end. I also love those things that remind me of carefree childhood romps outdoors. What a glorious God and what a glorious day!
